PRESS STATEMENT

Youths across Ogun East have renewed calls for increased youth participation in governance and strategic decision-making in Ogun State, following the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial election.

In a statement issued to the media, the group expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for their visionary leadership, political wisdom, and commitment to unity, which paved the way for the emergence of Senator Adeola Yayi as the party’s consensus candidate.

According to the youths, Senator Yayi’s emergence has further strengthened confidence in the progressive ideals of the APC and has positioned Ogun State for continued peace, development, and economic advancement.

The Ijebu youths, speaking with one voice, also declared their full support for Hon. Wasiu Okikiola Fayomi as their preferred choice for the position of Deputy Governor of Ogun State.

They described Hon. Fayomi as an energetic, dependable, and result-driven young leader whose achievements in youth development and public service make him eminently qualified for the office.

They noted that as President of the Ijebu Youths Association, Auditor of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State Chapter, and Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State on Youth Development, Hon. Fayomi has consistently displayed competence, commitment, and a genuine passion for empowering young people.

The youths further stated that selecting Hon. Wasiu Okikiola Fayomi as the deputy governorship candidate would not only reward dedication and loyalty but would also demonstrate that the APC remains a party that values and promotes youthful excellence.

They therefore appealed to party leaders, stakeholders, and key decision-makers to take advantage of this historic moment by deepening youth representation in governance and giving the younger generation a stronger voice at the highest level of leadership in Ogun State.

The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of their unwavering support for Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi and confidence that a Yayi/Fayomi ticket would symbolize competence, inclusiveness, and a brighter future for Ogun State.
